ABOUT ME
JCBA was built on a simple idea: wildfire investigation should be disciplined, objective, and grounded in evidence, not assumptions. After years of working in the field, I saw how often complex fire cases were clouded by incomplete analysis, unclear reporting, or conclusions that didn’t stand up under scrutiny. I knew there was a better way.
I founded JCBA as a single‑member consulting firm dedicated to delivering the kind of work product I would want if I were the client: clear, defensible, methodical, and rooted in nationally recognized investigative standards. My approach reflects decades of hands‑on experience, a deep respect for NWCG‑aligned methodology, and a commitment to communicating technical findings in a way that attorneys, insurers, utilities, and agencies can actually use.
Over the years, my work has grown from hands on origin and cause investigation into complex case leadership, statewide investigative oversight, cost recovery management, second opinion analysis, and expert witness services. Whether I’m walking a burn scar, dissecting documentation, or preparing for deposition, my mission remains the same: bring clarity to complex wildfire questions and provide clients with objective, defensible insight they can rely on with confidence.
JCBA remains intentionally small. That’s by design. Clients work directly with me, no layers, no handoffs, no dilution of expertise. Every case receives the same level of care, and professional integrity.
